Non-Invasive Cardiology

Non-invasive cardiology focuses on the detection and treatment of heart diseases, using external tests to evaluate and diagnose cardiac disorders as opposed to inserting needles, fluids or other instruments into the body to do so. Such tests might include:

• Enhanced external counterpulsation (EECP)
• Electrocardiogram (ECG/EKG)
• Echocardiography
• Holter monitoring
• Impedance cardiography
• Neurodiagnostics
• Diagnostic catheterization
• Stress testing
• Tilt table testing

Treatment

Once you have undergone non-invasive diagnostics, a cardiologist can access your needs and plan a course of treatment to get you back to your healthiest self. This treatment may include cardiac rehabilitation, interventional cardiology methods, implantable cardiac devices, pacemaker management or arrhythmia management. If your heart needs more invasive procedures to heal, your physician will refer you to an invasive cardiologist.
